This course provides the learner with a clear guidance on the issues of diversity, including gender, age, disability, sexual orientation and religion. It also provides an understanding of your organisation’s diversity policy.

  • describe different types of direct and indirect discrimination
  • explain your organisation’s Equal Opportunities policy and the steps they can take in applying it
  • ensure that all elements of perspective and existing employee interaction are legal and comply your organisation’s diversity policy
  • contribute positively towards a work environment that values each person equally.

  • Diversity in the Workplace.
  • Business Excellence & Equality/Diversity : the importance of performance management systems.
  • Direct vs. Indirect discrimination.
  • Personal Responsibility : perceptions, behaviour and attitudes to race
  • Paradigms : Clarity on race and how we see things
  • Links : stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and Institutional forms of discrimination
  • The Law : key legislation covering race, gender, disability and human rights
  • Cross cultural communication and issues of difference
