This programme provides a challenging, yet supportive experience that develops the attitudes and capability to delivery high impact coaching with confidence.

This programme is appropriate for learners at entry, intermediate and advanced levels.

Process
Experiential Exercise – Interactive experience to demonstrate our tendency to tell / instruct rather than ask / coach – value of a question-centred coaching style that helps people to stop and think for themselves – empowerment.
What is Coaching? – Core principles of high impact coaching. Role of the coach. Importance of attitude. Styles of coaching – willing / able.
Learning – Learning cycle – how we learn. Learning styles – activist, reflector, theorist, pragmatist. Self-assessment. Impact on others. Flexing and matching.
Coaching Process – GROW model – goals, reality, options, will. Emphasis on a question-centric approach throughout the process.
Communication – Techniques to enhance ability to influence others. 3Vs – verbal, vocal and visual channels of communication. Congruent communication.
Questioning – Formulating high impact questions. Identify questions for each stage of the GROW process. Question Funnel.
Feedback – Develop confidence in giving / receiving constructive feedback. Delivering feedback that has an emotional impact. Inspiring people through feedback. Positively framing challenging feedback. BOOST. LCAR.
Coaching Skills – Develop a range of skills – observation, suspending judgement, listening, summarising, silence, empathy, rapport and goal setting.
Coaching the Team – Strategy for coaching the team with diverse needs – new comers, steady-eddies, high flyers, low performers. Coaching cultures.
Practical Application – Demonstrations to model high impact coaching. Build confidence through practice simulations based on a variety of practical scenarios.
Options
This programme can be adapted as a 1 or 2 day workshop for approx. 8 to 10 learners, with 1 or 2 facilitators, with the possibility of using professional role players.
