Experiential Simulations – Learners to engage in a highly experiential process to practice coaching and receive feedback, using real life coaching issues.

Learners to identify 2 or 3 areas they’d like to be coached on (developmental areas or business issues):

  • Taking turns, a learner will coach a partner on a real life issue in front of the group – demonstrating the principles, process and skills.
  • A third learner will then coach the coach on that coaching session – identifying and coaching in 3 strengths and 2 developmental areas – demonstrating the principles, process and skills.
  • Facilitator to facilitate feedback and discussion on the 2 coaching sessions – identifying key strengths and development areas for each of the 2 coaches.
  • Repeat this process for the group.

By the end of the experiential process, each learner will have completed and received feedback on at least 3 real live coaching sessions.

Action Planning – Learners to reflect on their feedback – clarify their strengths and development areas and identifying how they will continue to work on these areas on a day-to-day basis. Facilitate feedback and discussion.
