This programme will challenge teams to review their current performance and potential in the light of their aspirations for the future in a fun and interactive workshop context that both supports and challenges learners.

Process
Experiential Exercise – Magic Stick – fun, interactive experience of teamwork.
Personal Experience – Sharing personal highs & lows – Time Line. Impact on individual and team. Identify key actions / issues – STOP, START, CONTINUE.
High Performance Teams – Defining teams. Levels of teamwork – working groups, pseudo teams, potential teams, real teams and high performance teams. Stages of team development – forming, storming, norming, performing and de-forming. Team dynamics – common purpose, shared identify, communication, organisation, decision-making, climate, culture and values.
Taking Stock – Agree core elements to assess team against. Small groups complete Radar Charts to assess team working. Share Radar Charts. Dialogue identifying issues – STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Common Purpose – Team’s purpose – why do we exit? Build a clear and shared vision for the future. Identify specific SMART objectives to achieve the vision – hard and soft. STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Experiential Exercise – Traffic Jam – fun, interactive experience of teamwork.
Strength in Diversity – Awareness of personal styles / preferences. Value of differences in style. Self-assessment of personal styles – psychometric. Appreciate styles / preferences of other team members. Flexing style for effective communication / relationships. Team’s profile – STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Communication & Feedback – Importance of open / honest communication. Johari’s Window. Team’s strengths and weaknesses in communicating. Skills in giving and receiving feedback – positive and challenging. Interactive exercise in giving and receiving feedback. STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Team Strategy – Strategy for working together and achieving as a team. Transactional Analysis (TA) – parent, adult, child ego states. Building effective relationships. STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Engaging Change – Effect of change on the team. DREC Change curve – denial, resistance, exploration, commitment. Climate for change.
Conflict Resolution – Understanding conflict. Conflict as positive / negative. Risk of unresolved conflict. Effect of conflict on individuals / team. Managing self and others. Emotional Intelligence (EI). Conflict handling strategies – Thomas Kilman Conflict Inventory – avoiding accommodating, competing, compromise and collaboration. Self-assessment. Resolving conflict. STOP, START, CONTINUE.
Tools & Techniques – Future visioning problem solving, mind-mapping, SWOT, 5Cs of decision-making, decision-making table, importance vs. urgency, etc.

Programme can be adapted as a 1 or 2 day workshop for approx. 8 to 10 learners.
