Training solutions provider, Training Synergy, sponsored the IT Trainer of the Year Award at this year’s British Computer Society (BCS) IT Professional Awards, held at The Grosvenor House Hotel, on 7 December.
According to Daniel Hanlon, Training Synergy’s managing director: “We were keen to sponsor this award because we believe that promoting professional standards is key in supporting the UK’s IT industry – and these awards celebrate those in the IT industry who achieve the highest standards in their professional life.
“It is vital that the UK’s IT practitioners have the necessary skills to meet the new requirements of UK employers – especially with employment in the UK IT industry forecast to grow at five to eight times the average employment growth in the UK over the next decade,“ he added.
The Training Synergy-sponsored ‘IT Trainer of the Year Award’ – won by Dave Britt of QA-IQ – was one of six awards in the ‘Individual Excellence Awards’ section, itself one of the Awards’ five sections. Open to in-house or external trainers, the award criteria recognise that candidates must ‘demonstrate the ability to understand the needs of each assignment and to establish, develop, implement and deliver successful training programmes leading to signi?cant performance improvement. Evidence of measurement of the training effectiveness is also an essential requirement’.
“Consequently, the award recognises the achievement of exceptional individuals and organisations who, by the nature of the changing role and nature of ‘training’ in today’s world, are making a vital contribution to the development and efficiency of their business,“ Hanlon added.
