NHS Leaders see IT as great opportunity for the future

A poll conducted by the NHS Confederation has found that NHS leaders have a surprising amount of faith in IT as major benefit for the future of the NHS.

Surprising given the delays in the National Programme for IT and the technical hitches with new software. Despite this senior managers still value the vision of a joined up network providing vital information and more patient choice.

“Over the last few years we have trained over 80,000 NHS staff on new systems like Choose & Book, Cerner, RIO and SystemOne” says Training Synergy director Dan Hanlon “and despite the problems, when people see what these systems can achieve and what they will achieve, they are usually very keen to get on with it”
