Synergy helps young people into work

Whle markets panic and banks disappear overnight, Synergy, through a combination of volunteer programmes and client projects, is investing heavily in skills for the future.

Volunteers from across the Synergy group are giving up their time to help 16 to 18 year olds from the Borough of Camden successfully apply for jobs. On a training day called ‘Present Yourself’, Synergy staff are giving advice on writing CVs and interview skills to prepare the young people for the job market. Synergy CEO Patrick Hanlon says “We have a wealth of skills in this area among the people in our training and recruitment businesses and it’s  great to be able help young people in our community make the most of the opportunities available to them.”

Further afield, Training Synergy is helping its client NACRO to continue its invaluable work with young people at risk of offending and excluded from schools. A massive Kickstart programme across the South East has seen 33 more tutors successfully recruited, who will be working to develop the skills of 14 to 19 year olds in the region. NACRO area manger Bridget Parr is delighted with the success of the programme: “Once again Kickstart has filled some vital roles for our centres and by employing local people we can further contribute to the regeneration of the area.”
