Training Synergy nominates first four TPMA Assessors

December 3rd will be day one of the IITT’s three day TPMA Assessor course for the Training Synergy accreditation team.

Trainer Performance Monitoring and Assessment training kicks off for Training Synergy in December, when four of the senior training team take their first steps towards qualifying as TPMA Assessors. Once qualified they will be able to assess trainers who possess the requisite skills to achieve the IITT’s ICTP certificate (Institute Certified Training Practitioner) jointly awarded by the IITT and BCS. This will mean looking not just at the trainer’s subject matter expertise, but also their ability to connect with delegates and to create truly dynamic and interactive learning events.

“This is an extension of the assessment and selection criteria we use for our trainers, only now, those qualities are validated on a global scale and recognised on the Qualifications Credit Framework” says Training Synergy centre manager Jane McCarthy, who is herself taking the Assessment training. The other potential Assessors have decades of training experience among them in areas as varied as IT, finance, aerospace, management and business skills. Lou Mooney, Mark Frank and Niall Shanahan (who is himself a qualified A1 Assessor) will, along with Jane, make up the accreditation team.

“We will also be offering affordable training courses for those trainers who wish to gain the TPMA certificate but need to enhance their skill sets in order to achieve it” says Jane, “These will be very much along the lines of the accredited STA Project and ACTT courses that we have run over the past few years. These courses will be run for individual trainers or organisations that wish to have the skills of their training teams benchmarked against national standards.”
