Instructional designers

Behind every bespoke Training Synergy training project there is an experienced instructional designer, developing the course.
Effective course development (for any training medium) relies on the skills of instructional designers to find the ways in which to transfer knowledge using the most suitable and innovative methods.
Since Training Synergy’s focus is strongly on bespoke training programmes, we have developed instructional design as a core competency.
Our instructional designers work closely with account managers, training project managers and our clients to fully understand the needs of the business and the topics which need to be taught.
Instructional design typically takes place using the recognised ADDIE (analyse, design, develop, implement, evaluate) model:
- Analyse – analyse learners’ characteristics, the project requirements and the topics/tasks to be learned
- Design – develop the learning objectives and choose the instructional approach
- Develop – create the training materials
- Implement – deliver the instructional materials as part of a learning programme
- Evaluate – check and measure to ensure that the learning materials achieve the required goals
These are then broken down into key teaching points and specific learning events within the overall course – with the instructional designer devising the most effective way to communicate the topics required as part of the course.
The resulting course must combine the best elements of learning theory, visual design and written communications – to convey topics quickly and in a motivating way.
